Public and private

All private is public and… No no no. Thats not my thinking. I make a clear difference between public area and private area. Specially in the web.

All topics and posts published via a blog or a forum are public and I’m responsible to write only what I can publish to everyone. Whats private will not be published in open media. You will not find any private pictures in my facebook area published by me. The  same happens in this blog. Private issues will be stored on my PC or notebook, on paper based notes or in the not published area of this blog.

Writing in Deutsch oder besser Schreiben in English?

There is an international course about change in learning. Shall I write my post  and comments in English or in German?

Normally I would say the lingua franka will be english.  But I also know that lots of German readers don’t like reading and answering english texts. My decision is: it depends. Yes, Sometimes I will use German, sometimes English. Are there any criteria? No,  or better I can’t define them yet.

MooC - was soll das jetzt schon wieder?

Being connected changes learning. When those connections are global, the experience of knowledge development is dramatically altered as well. Over the past four years, a growing number of educators have started experimenting with the teaching and learning process in order to answer critical questions: “How does learning change when formal boundaries are reduced? What is the future of learning? What role with educators play in this future? What types of institutions does society need to respond to hyper-growth of knowledge and rapid dissemination of information? How do the roles of learners and educators change when knowledge is ubiquitous?”

Experimenting with answers to these questions has produced what is now called “massive open online courses” or MOOCs. Three of us - George Siemens, Stephen Downes, and Dave Cormier - have had over 10,000 participants in the various courses we’ve run since 2008. The learning experience has been terrific. We’ve refined our pedagogical approaches, improved the software (well, actually, just Stephen did that), and developed a research agenda around learning in networks in open online courses.

Alle Infos findet man unter http://change.mooc.ca/. Anmeldung und Teilnahme ist wirklich kostenfrei.

Wozu dient dieser Blog? - Why this blog?
